Designs
Built to last designs — Our design philosophy.

POWDER understands the problems of severe service environments because we employ tenured industry experts and engineers with extensive field experience and valve knowledge.

Many of our engineering and service employees have years of operational and maintenance experience in the field, not only with valves, but with controls, instrumentation, processes and systems.

In plants where key unit personnel have years of site experience, problems can be anticipated and solutions planned in advance because of their accrued knowledge.

The design engineers can work with the most advanced software applications such as Auto-Cad, Pro-Engineer and Pro-Mechanica. Modern design methods are employed to analyze specific stresses and deformation limits of valve bodies and main valve components, and is available to develop specific design for critical applications using other design standards and finite element analysis.

Who use contemporary technology, capture the valve performance data, all this data is not only valuable to valve engineers that can analyze the dynamics and kinematics of each valve.

To analyze and solve problems that involve fluid flows, the design engineers use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. CFD analysis can predict the complex flow characteristics inside the pipeline and valve, where issues such as the formation of vortices and complex cavitation phenomena can be visualized. When used with finite element analysis — to simulate material stresses — and a flow loop, CFD gives engineers a complete picture of where to improve valve performance.
